Exploring Canada EDC: A Maker Spotlight

Exploring Canada EDC: A Maker Spotlight

One thing we wanted to do with this blog, is feature our fellow makers and give them a space where we can learn more about them and celebrate their contributions to the community. We are happy to have our first makers spotlight blog featuring Corey and Kat from Canada EDC and encourage you to check them out and support.

Very similar to us, they are a husband and wife with a dream to bring their designs and creativity to the EDC community through their patches and gear. We had them fill out this questionnaire to get a better sense of their brand and inspiration:

Q: What brought you into the EDC Community?

A: Corey AKA Krunchy always had a passion for knives and was a knife enthusiast, then discovered Instagram and Canada EDC was born.

Q: How long have you been making/designing EDC products?

A: Corey: “Kat has been making EDC items for a very long time, she is quite crafty.”

Kat: “ Yes, I’ve been making EDC. Things like little EDC kits or sewing hanks, or even making little trinkets for your pocket for about 20 years. Only recently within the last 2 years have we explored PVC patchwork and love it!

Q: What is the inspiration behind your brand and work?

A: We both really love animals and were mostly inspired from the Canadian wilderness and the beautiful country that we grew up in. From beavers and moose, to whales and squirrels, we love our animals and we love our country! That is our main source of inspiration. We’d like to add some nostalgia in future drops.

Q: What do you enjoy most about EDC?

A: Corey: “I like everything about it, there’s nothing I don’t like! I love the community, it’s been super friendly and very welcoming. I love collecting things, patches, pouches, knives, survival kits and Olights. I love it all!”

Q: What will keep you invested in everyday carry in the future?

A: Corey: “It won’t take me much to be invested in the future. In EDC, as long as there’s knives and patches and pouches out there, I’ll be interested.”

Q: What’s next for you and your brand?

A: Corey: “Our future jobs will still be EDC and knife related. They’ll still be true to who we are. But hopefully, we’ll be mixing in some new nostalgic pieces and continuing on with our patches and pouches.

Corey and Kat are a wonderful couple bringing their Canadian flare to the EDC community. They sell their EDC through social media, so be sure to follow them for the latest and greatest:
